Mom’s That Brunch
Beauty, by its very definition, has been described as a woman who possess physical qualities of attractiveness. A standard of beauty has been set for women all around the world – and only if you fit the size; fit the mould of that standard are you deemed worthy.
But beauty shouldn’t be in the prettiness of one’s face or how small your waist is. Beauty shouldn’t be in how quickly your body bounces back after pregnancy and birth. Beauty shouldn’t be found in how much time it’s taken you to feel remotely yourself since birth.
Beauty is a kind heart. Beauty is the bravery you show amidst adversity. Beauty is not how pristine and perfect you look on the outside. Beauty is showing your authenticity even though you leave yourself vulnerable. Beauty is the way you hold yourself. Beauty is the way in which you treat people. Beauty is creating a beautiful place inside yourself; inside your soul. Beauty is being raw and real and honest despite what society has taught us.
We decided to run this campaign because from young we have been taught to strive for these unattainable standards within society but we are saying NO MORE.
We are choosing to break the mould society has deemed perfection. We are choosing to show our vulnerability, our imperfections, our flaws, our rawness and honesty; and love ourselves for it. We are choosing to show up for ourselves so that we can stand up for others.
